The Town of Simsbury is excited to offer residents an easy and secure way to view, print and pay their real estate, personal property and motor vehicle tax bills online. We support electronic presentment(viewing) and billing because it is more convenient for our resident and better for the environment.
Online Bill Payment, in partnership with Invoice Cloud, offers the following benefits:
No signup cost or registration required
Access, view and pay your tax bills online, at your convenience
Paying your bill online is faster and cheaper than writing a check and mailing it
You can pay with electric check or credit/debit card
You have the option to pay immediately, schedule a payment or sign up for Auto-Pay
Pay online for as little as 95 cents for ACH transfer(electronic check)
Use of a charge card or electronic check/ACH will incur a convenience fee. The Town of Simsbury receives only your bill payment amount, the town cannot pay for the fees.
Convenience Fees
The convenience fee when using a Visa Debit Card is a flat tae fee of $3.95.
The convenience fee when using a Credit Card is a percentage rate fee of up to 2.95% with a minimum charge of $1.00
The convenience fee when using an Electronic Check is 95 cents.
The convenience fee amount is automatically calculated and is shown on the payment page before you submit your payment for processing. Convenience fee s will appear as a separate charge from your bill amount on your bank or credit card statement.

What the Mill Rate means:
For every $1,000 of assessment you pay $31.88. Example: If your motor vehicle is assessed at $1,500 your taxes would be $47.82.
The Sewer Use Fees for July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2012 at $325.00 a year. Those bills will be mailed out the last week of June 2011 and are due by August 1, 2011.

Back Tax Notation on Bill
If the notation “Back Taxes” appears on your bill, call the tax office for updated interest charges on what you already owe. Back taxes and interest must be paid in full before payment on current bills can be accepted. If you have back taxes they must be paid with cash, bank check or money order.
Penalty for Returned Checks
If your check is returned unpaid by the bank, an additional fee of $20.00 will be added to your balance due. In addition, you may be charged a penalty by your bank.
Penalty for Late Payment
If payment is not made within one month of the due date, the installment will become delinquent and subject to interest at the rate of 1.5% per month from the due date. As of Aug. 1, 2011 and Feb. 1, 2012, a total of 3% interest is due on the taxes unpaid from the original due date of either July 1, 2011 or January 1, 2012. AS THE OWNER OF TAXABLE PROPERTY, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE TO SEE THAT TAXES ARE PAID WHEN DUE.
Payment In Person
If you pay in person, bring the entire bill to the Tax Collector's Office, Town Hall, 933 Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury, CT. 06070
Payment By Mail
Payments post-marked as of August 1, 2011 by the USPS are NOT DELINQUENT for the first installment. Payments post-marked as of Feb 1, 2012 by the USPS are NOT DELINQUENT for the second installment.
If a receipt is desired, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope and the entire bill with your payment. Checks should be made out to the Tax Collector- Simsbury.
